Yaesu FC-40 Automatic Matching 200-Memory Antenna Tuner
The Yaesu FC-40 is a microprocessor-controlled antenna tuner designed to provide wideband transmitting capability for many Yaesu transceivers, particularly when used with an end-fed random wire or long whip antenna. It’s compatible with transceivers like the FT-897, FT-857, FT-DX10, FT-991A, and FT-981 series. The FC-40 uses control circuitry built into the transceiver, allowing for automatic operation and control by the operator.
Key features of the FC-40 include:
- 200-Memory Antenna Tuner: It can match a wide variety of antennas to within a 2:1 SWR on 1.6 – 54 MHz, typically in less than eight seconds.
- Power Requirements: Transmitter power required for matching may be as little as 4 – 60 Watts.
- Weather-Resistant: The unit is housed in a waterproof case to withstand severe environmental conditions.
- Compatibility: It’s designed for operation on 7 to 54 MHz when using an 8 ft. whip or on 1.8 to 54 MHz with a random-length wire longer than 66 ft.
